KINGSTON, NY – Mayor Steve Noble and Kingston Police Chief Egidio Tinti announce that the Kingston Police Department will be partnering with the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police to combat crime in our community.
Starting now, New York State Police will be providing multiple vehicles each day for patrol, and three deputies from the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office are currently assisting KPD’s Special Investigative Unit for cases involving guns, narcotics and gang activities.
“We are asking for all available resources to keep everyone in our community safe and secure,” said Chief Egidio Tinti. “Our number one concern is the safety of our residents. Having the additional assistance will mean seamless sharing of information between agencies, because, as we know, crime doesn’t stop at the City limits.”
“Right now there is an immediate need to ensure that every person in our community feels safe,” said Mayor Noble. “By bringing in additional officers to be a presence in our neighborhoods and others with specialized expertise, we are doing everything in our power to protect our residents and solve these recent crimes.”
