Four openings on the board of trustees with two incumbents leaving the board and two incumbents running for re-election along with two new candidates. Three of the openings are three year terms and one is a two year term. Leaving the board are Paul Werbalowsky who has completed a three year term and Hilary Swan who was appointed to fill a vacant seat. Kingston is likely to adopt new taxicab regulations that would remove the fare Rate Regulation. (City of Poughkeepsie, NY Taxicab Ordinances) Section 18-18
City of Kingston: The Rate for up to two passengers, for a trip from any point within the City to any other point within the City, a maximum rate of $4.50. + a fuel surcharge of $0.50.

Today: A Taxicab cost/trip from the plaza to City hall is $6.50, over the maximum rate set by the City of Kingston.
A license for a Taxicab Driver is $25 in the City of Kingston and $25 in the Town of Ulster [HISTORY. Adopted by the Town Board of the Town of Ulster 12-1998 as L.L. No. 2-1999. ]
