KINGSTON, N.Y. - All are welcome at the Annual Midtown Make a Difference Day on Saturday, September 7th, 11:00am to 3:00pm, on Franklin Street. Now in its 14th year, Midtown Make a Difference Day provides an opportunity for residents to reconnect with their neighbors, gain information from community-based organizations, and celebrate our community. This year's event will include an interactive exhibit for participants to share people who have made a difference in their lives and how they plan to pay it forward.
Attendees will enjoy face painting, community dances, and other fun activities for all ages. The event will feature Ms. Ashley Knox, founder of “Go Beyond Greatness,” as Master of Ceremonies, and DJ Dre Black, who will be spinning music throughout the day. Attendees will also enjoy performances from the Center for Creative Education, as well as a local Youth Talent Showcase, and a Kids' Dance Party sponsored by MyKingstonKids. Remarks from City of Kingston Mayor Steve Noble and other community leaders will be shared throughout the day.
Community-based organizations will be on-hand to provide information and activities to connect residents to services and resources available in Ulster County. Exhibitors will offer information on a variety of topics including health, education, employment, legal, recreation and much more.
Food and activities are free to all thanks to this year’s generous event sponsors, including Radio Kingston, Family of Woodstock, Inc., Ulster Savings Bank, the City of Kingston and UlsterCorps. Special thanks to the AME Zion Church for allowing this event to partially take place on its property.
Franklin Street will be closed from Broadway to Prospect Street (adjacent to the Kingston Library). There will be no on-street parking allowed during the event.
